One of my favorite places to take visitors is Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains. As well as the natural attractions like the "Three Sisters" rock formation, there are the cable car and the near-vertical "scenic railway". We also drove over to Jenolan Caves, but arrived too late to take a cave tour.

The next day we drove down to Canberra. It's not on everyone's tourist agenda, but I had recently made contact again with an old friend who lives there and we took the opportunity to see something different.
