Rebecca in New York

Rebecca made what seems like an annual visit to New York last week — only a flying visit but we managed to cram a lot in. I have joined Zipcar, and I rented a car to drive to a town called Beacon a little way upstate from New York City, to visit the Dia:Beacon art museum. This is an old factory specially converted to house spectacularly-large exhibits — enormous individual pieces and large collections of a single artist's work.
Unfortunately, the museum does not allow photography, so the only photos of the trip are a few shots taken on the way up there. We went up the west side of the Hudson via the George Washington Bridge and the Pallisades Parkway, and came back down the east side of the river through Yonkers. The photos were taken at a lookout on the Pallisades Parkway.
The car was a Mini Cooper convertible. I figured that this was the ideal occasion for a car like that — showing off the scenery to a visitor in ideal weather.
This made me realize that I have been very slow in getting the photos from Rebecca's earlier visits posted on my web site. So here are the photos from all of the visits, plus a couple of pages from my visits to her in England:
