Thanksgiving 2007

It's November in America, and that means Thanksgiving. And for Shaun's circle of friends, it means Thanksgiving dinner at Shaun's place on the Upper West Side.
The food as always was excellent, and the company was a variation on the regular crowd from previous Thanksgivings – some familiar faces and a few new guests – all combining to make for a great afternoon and evening.
And lately, I've been inserting myself into this tradition by becoming the unofficial photographer of Thanksgiving dinner. The number of photographs increases every year, but I think it's good to have a record of these occasions. And if I keep doing it, one day I might get good at it.
At one point in the evening Osamu asked me whether I had been taking photographs at every Thanksgiving dinner for the last few years, and the question prompted me to realize that I had several sets of photos that I had not yet published. So here are all the years for which photographs exist:
A note about the photographs — as always at these events I got more than a little drunk, and it shows in the quality of the photography. One problem is that I forgot to pay attention to the flash, so a lot of these shots are too harshly lit, and in many cases the foreground is very much brighter than the more distant parts of the picture. Sorry about that.
