Different cultures have different traditions regarding Christmas —
when to have the main Christmas dinner, when to open presents and so on.
When I was growing up in England present opening was first thing
Christmas morning, and Christmas dinner — roast chicken —
was in the middle of Christmas Day.
Another tradition is to open presents (boxes) on the day after Christmas
— hence the name Boxing Day.
I don't know whether it's a German tradition or a Trinidad one,
or perhaps even their own idea,
but Chris and Heidi have their Christmas dinner in the evening of
Christmas Eve, followed by present opening.
And this year they invited me to join them.
It was a lovely evening — thank you to you both — and
another great opportunity for photos of Chris and Heidi,
and Kayla and Nathan, and the kittens
(and I remembered their names this time).
